If you're used to searching for your accommodation on a regular basis, you should be aware that the search algorithms used by the platforms are highly sophisticated and make use of many different elements. In particular, the algorithm will determine a "profile" of the surfer based on his or her cookies, history and location, so as to present only those properties most likely to trigger a purchase. In other words, if you search empirically, not finding your ad doesn't mean it's not visible, but that the algorithm has considered that you're not the target.
In short, your ad runs perfectly well in the system with potential customers, but isn't visible to everyone, because Airbnb can't view all their listings for a single customer, they have far too much stock and have to sort strategically.
